As part of the Green Ghana Day celebrations, Suahunu Project, an initiative of Kanko indulged a number of schools in its maiden “One child, One tree” sub project component under environmental conservation. The children joined the adult population to plant seedlings in public space and also took home seedlings for individual planting, nurturing and ownership. Plans are in place to get the partnering schools to monitor the growth of the planted trees as part of their environmental studies. This is meant to promote the love for nature and its conservation among young people in the fight against the deteriorating climate change.
